Drumroll please!
If you’ve been with me for a while, you know all about my writing journey with Project Shadow and how long it has taken me to not only write the thing, but also polish it to its current state. The book has survived a literal decade of effort, two cross-country moves, two new babies, a switch to homeschooling kids, several complete re-writes, quite a few mental breakdowns, a pair of incredibly talented editor eyes, and many early writing mornings.

Well, I am so excited to announce that I have finally moved on to the querying and pitching stage. It is a bit nerve-wracking to reach this point in the road and know that it is time. But I am also very ready to see the next step of development coming to fruition, kind of giddy actually.
I won’t lie, the entire creative process has been fascinating and sleep-depriving (in both an exciting and a dreadful way). Some days I thought I’d never get here. You can read more about that here, and here. Also, here, and here. Or just scroll down my posts really, many deal with monsters like self-doubt, fear, and untimely interruptions.
Many amazing beta readers, fellow writers, and newsletter supporters came to my aid as I poured my heart and soul into this project. You know who you are, and I adore you. You got to read excerpts and query letters, and even got a peak at the project after its first chapter won a finalist spot in the 2017 San Francisco Writers Conference. Thank you for sticking with me, and if you’re knew around these parts, don’t miss out. Join my VIP club here. We don’t bite, pinky promise.
Here’s to another decade of growth! Hopefully at a faster rate (sigh). But progress is progress, and growth sometimes takes a while to set its roots. The important part is to keep writing and never fail to appreciate how our failures lead us to success.
